Nice New Neighbours

by admin

I’m not sure if it is a seasonal thing, but the Barking Owls that had made the park their home for some time have been conspicuous by their absence lately. While the lack of “Woof-Woof” echoing across the neighbourhood all night, from dusk until dawn, might please some, I actually find the Barking Owls quite fun to have around.

New Tawny Frogmouth Neighbour

But, lately the owls seem to have moved house and although we can still occasionally hear them “barking” in the distance, it seems their absence has opened the opportunity for new neighbours to move in. Two Tawny Frogmouth have taken up residence in a tree near to my camper.

There are two and they are obviously a pair, so who knows, we might have more appearing soon.

They seem quite friendly and happily sit and pose for photos, which is good of them!

Sadly, I haven’t been able to snap a picture of the Barking owls – they are too crafty and fly off if you even look like you are headed in their direction. Maybe one day I’ll get lucky…
